La Courtine This Cognac restaurant offers French cuisine in an elegant setting on the banks of the Charente. The chef uses local products to create traditional dishes with a modern twist. Closed Sunday evening and Monday.


Poulpette A small restaurant that practices immediate cooking, without cold rooms or setting up. The menu is short and the products are delivered daily. Great care is taken with the wine list, which is predominantly biodynamic. Due to the size of the establishment, reservations are recommended. Open Tuesday (noon), and Wednesday, Thursday and Friday (noon and evening).


L'Atelier des Quai At the foot of the Saint-Jacques bridge facing the towers of the Château de Cognac, a gourmet bistro on the banks of the Charente offering cuisine based on fresh, quality products. Carte and varied menus, from traditional cuisine. Closed Sunday.


Chez Bianca et Philippe Traditional french restaurant in the heart of Cognac. Daily menu and dishes on the slate which change several times a week. Only fresh and homemade. A special mention for the friendly welcome. Open Tuesday and Wednesday (lunch), Thursday, Friday and Saturday (lunch and evening). Closed Sunday and Monday.


La Table de l'Yeuse Located in Châteaubernard, with a beautiful view of the Charente, this restaurant offers creative French cuisine in an elegant and modern setting. The chef uses fresh, local ingredients to create tasty dishes. Closed Saturday (evening), Sunday and Monday (noon and evening).


Baan Thaï Located in the center of Cognac, exotic restaurant in a nice setting, near the beautiful garden of the city hall. Closed Sunday and Monday.


Le Bistrot de Claude Located in the center of Cognac, this restaurant offers traditional French cuisine, accompanied by a fine wine list. Closed Saturday and Sunday.


Origins Kraft Kitchen & Cocktails Close to the Halles de Cognac, this is a restaurant at lunchtime and a cocktail bar in the evening. During the week, a daily menu deliberately reduced to two choices based on fresh and gourmet products. Open for lunch (12 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.) Monday to Friday and in the evening (6 p.m. to 2 a.m.) Monday to Saturday.


Le Coq d'Or Traditional "brasserie" cuisine in the center of Cognac. Created in the building of the former post office, the Coq d'Or has always kept its "Art Nouveau" decor. Open every day, lunch and evening.


Le Restaurant du Golf Located between Cognac and Bourg-Charente, the restaurant offers a menu that changes with the seasons. Particular care is taken in the selection of local products to offer visitors a culinary journey to the heart of the Cognac region. Open for lunch every day (11:45 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.).


Le Verre Y Table Located in Jarnac, the restaurant offers cuisine that reflects the decor, modern and colorful, imagined in a bistro spirit. The menus are developed with local producers. Closed Saturday (evening), Sunday and Monday (lunch and evening).


Graines et Garenne In Chateauneuf-sur-Charente. Products from the land or the sea, sweet or salty, cooked or raw, all the dishes are entirely prepared with fresh products selected by the chef. A "week" menu and an "evening and weekend" menu. Open Sunday, Monday and Tuesday (noon), Thursday, Friday and Saturday (noon and evening). Closed on Wednesday.

Cocktails made with Baron Otard and D'Ussé cognacs in the heart of the castle, a historical monument, in its Louise de Savoie courtyard... or on the terrace overlooking the Charente river, for a sunny break! Open - in the summer season - Tuesday to Saturday, 5 p.m. to 11:30 p.m., closed Sunday and Monday.


Indigo by Martell Discover a terrace perched 24 meters above the ground in the historic tower of the Martell House. This terrace offers a spectacular view of the city of Cognac, its historic center and the banks of the river Charente. Open - in the summer season - Wednesday and Thursday (5 p.m.–12 a.m.), Friday and Saturday (5 p.m.–1 a.m.), Sunday (4 p.m.–10 p.m.). Closed Monday and Tuesday.


Jazz Bar 1838 Located in the former cooperage of the Maison Monnet, Jazz Bar 1838 is a place dedicated to cocktails. Creativity is honored through a selection of cocktails that evolve with the seasons... Open every day.


Bar Louise The regularly renewed menu is creative, featuring cognac, local spirits, fresh and home-made products. It also includes a selection of wines, beers and food to share to accompany your tasting. Open daily (5 p.m.–1 a.m.) except Sunday.

Château Chesnel Dating from the 17th century, it retains certain architectural codes of fortified castles with its ditches, towers and crenellations, but these are decorative elements. You will be seduced by the harmony that emerges from this set of buildings, castle and outbuildings, which have remained intact since their construction at the beginning of the 17th century. The visit is open inside and outside the castle.


Verteuil A village dominated by its royal castle which in the past controlled the road from Limoges to La Rochelle. The current castle with its five conical towers and its watchtower topped with slate roofs began to be built in the 15th century and has been modified and enlarged several times since... The commune of Verteuil-sur-Charente has treasures to discover: take a walk on the esplanade of the church and lose yourself in the alleys, dead ends and alleys which bear witness to the medieval settlement of the town.

Bassac Abbey Former Benedictine abbey founded at the beginning of the 11th century. At the heart of a town full of character, the Abbey of Saint-Etienne de Bassac is one of the most remarkable monastic sites in Charente. The Romanesque, Gothic, Baroque and Classical styles rub shoulders in Bassac, recalling the alternation of painful episodes and glorious moments. A unique visit to a place steeped in spirituality, in a soothing natural setting conducive to healing.

Jarnac The town of Jarnac, located 12 km from Cognac, is the birthplace of former French President François Mitterrand (from 1981 to 1995). You can visit his birthplace which has been transformed into a museum, as well as the François Mitterrand Museum with the collections space (grouping the gifts received during the presidency), and the model space (grouping the Great Works carried out from 1981 to 1995) .
